In 2020, my partner Chris Spencer and I interviewed neighbors about the police budget and racial bias in the small community where we had just moved. Together with city council footage and data visualizations, we stitched together interviews to create a feature length documentary film. The Price of Safety has played at film festivals around the country and won best documentary film at the River's Edge Film Festival in Kentucky and the jury award at the Made Here Film Festival in Vermont.
